Four siblings and their Mum along with family members, plenty of good friends bid farewell to an amazing husband, father, friend and colleague on Friday July 12th.

At the front of the banquet hall was a lovely arrangement of red gladiolas.  To the side, pictures of the deceased, his favorite hat and guitar.  I read a beautiful tribute written by the youngest daughter  on behalf of the family.  We began with a gentle bell ringing and then the Memorial Candle Lighting ceremony.  The candle represents the spirit of the deceased.  This candle can be lit and present in the future on the many occasions that he or she would normally attend.

As we gazed upon the candle, it’s an opportunity to be drawn into a powerful sense of the person you come to honor.
