Committal Service July, 2020
“When our mother passed away during the time of strict Covid-19 restrictions, our family nevertheless felt a need to gather and to lay her ashes to rest. Kim met with the family in advance and helped us plan an intimate graveside interment for the closest family members. She listened carefully as each one of us expressed our thoughts about our mother and our wishes for the respectful goodbye we were seeking to process our grief. She suggested some poetry and biblical passages that appropriately captured our mother’s kind nature and love for her family. At the graveside, Kim incorporated the family’s wishes in a sober, yet lovely ceremony, and she offered some well-chosen words of comfort. It was exactly the healing gathering we needed, combining both religious and secular elements. At Kim’s suggestion, we each said a final goodbye to our beloved mom with a rose.
Thank you, Kim, for creating this memorable occasion to honor our mother!”
Wedding at Van Duesen Gardens August 3, 2019 for Ana and Alden
“We really enjoyed meeting Kim because right away she understood what we wanted for our wedding ceremony. She listened as we told how we met and fell in love and then sent us a draft of the ceremony for our approval. It was perfect and everyone said how beautiful was the ceremony.
Additionally, we hired Kim to M/C at our reception. She was calm and welcomed everyone and made them feel welcome. She helped to write a speech for my father (the bride) who does not speak English and delivered it with him by her side.
Thanks to Kim for making our day perfect!”
July 12 2019 – Celebration of Life
Four siblings and their Mum along with family members, plenty of good friends bid farewell to an amazing husband, father, friend and colleague on Friday July 12th.
At the front of the banquet hall was a lovely arrangement of red gladiolas. To the side, pictures of the deceased, his favorite hat and guitar. I read a beautiful tribute written by the youngest daughter on behalf of the family. We began with a gentle bell ringing and then the Memorial Candle Lighting ceremony. The candle represents the spirit of the deceased. This candle can be lit and present in the future on the many occasions that he or she would normally attend.
As we gazed upon the candle, it’s an opportunity to be drawn into a powerful sense of the person you come to honor.
Celebration of Life In February 2018 at Quilchena, honouring Lew, wife of Peter.
“I think the whole ceremony was a tremendous success and we had a beautiful, sunny day. Lew would have been happy.
We had a lot of compliments on how well the day went. Thanks for your part in that. We couldn’t have done it without you. It was the right length, the speeches went well, just the right combination of laughs and tears, the slideshow was nice, and I think Quilchena did well.
There were many comments on our good choice of a Celebrant so I think you did well.
Thanks for the Keepsake.
Ghetto wedding with Kim and Jae
“When Jae and I decided we wanted to get married, there was only one person that came to my mind that would be perfect to conduct the ceremony. Having known Kim for a long time, I knew that I wanted her passion and her love for all that she does. When we met with Kim and told her what our ideas were, a Big Gay Neon themed Potluck, she smiled and immediately got excited with us!
From that day on she became closely involved with our process and even told us about the Neon Pink top she had in mind to wear. We felt like a family throughout.
We were given so many great options, most that hadn’t even crossed our minds, on how to best celebrate our love and make it significant and marking on our wedding day. The ceremony was beautiful and fun and Kim the way you spoke at the wedding had everyone loving every moment.
Thank you so much for being a part of our special day. It meant the world to us.”

Paying tribute to Dorothy
I would like to provide a recommendation for Kimberley Evens who conducted the Celebration of Life Ceremony for my beloved sister. Kim was very supportive and took the time to understand my sister’s life story and to work with us to create a unique & beautiful ceremony. Kim brought many ideas and elements that we could choose from that allowed us to create a special and fitting event. The bell ringing ceremony brought everyone together and encouraged many to speak. The candle lighting ceremony was very special and has left us with long lasting meaning.
I truly want to thank Kim for her compassion, her support and for creating such a special ceremony.
I highly recommend Kim for her Celebration of Life Ceremonies.
“Ms Evans truly captured and honored my father’s spirit. She carefully considered our family dynamics and created and delivered a thoughtful Eulogy. She is very creative in her approach and offered many unique recommendations specific to our family’s values. I highly recommend Ms Evans as celebrant. ”
