Alzheimer’s is one form of many forms of dementia creating a tsunami of challenges for people across our country and around the world!

Is it caused by brain injury, the environment, genetics, inflammation, sleep apnea or the absurd hand of fate which sentences the sufferer to a variety of diminished functions that move slowly or rapidly? Yes, all of these and likely many more of which the scientific and medical community can attest.

Alzheimer’s has no current cure, but treatments for symptoms are available and research continues. Today, there is a worldwide effort under way to find better ways to treat the disease, delay its onset, and prevent it from developing in the first place. Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging, although the greatest known risk factor is increasing age, and the majority of people with Alzheimer’s are 65 and older. At Life Celebrant BC, we are committed to donating 10% of our gross income to the Alzheimer’s Society of British Columbia which will go toward finding a cure for this horrific disease. http://www.alzheimer.ca/bc/
